Aiming to strengthen its business in south India, Singapore AirlinesĀ announced on Wednesday a slew of measures that include additional flights, special discounts and a revamped menu.
"Three more services have been added to the existing seven, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Silk Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, will start services from Coimbatore to Singapore from October 28," said Bharat Mahadevan, regional manager of Singapore Airlines.
The airline will now offer South Indian cuisine for its passengers on the Chennai-Singapore route and has also come up with a Rs 5,555
round trip scheme, bookings for which will start on Thursday.
"As for South Indian cuisine, it is our emphasis on the local experience. As part of the menu, customers can now enjoy delicacies like Idiappam, Mysore Masala Dosa and Pesaratu. The new menu will be served from October 28 onwards," he said.
The Rs 5,555 offer is open from September 16 to October 27 and bookings will close on September 22, Mahadevan said.
