June 19, 2006 12:26 IST

Kuwait's new national airline, Jazeera Airways, will start direct flights to New Delhi and Mumbai from July 1.

The expansion plan for the Indian subcontinent follows addition of brand new aircraft to its Airbus A320 fleet scheduled for later this month and early July.

"We have crossed a major milestone in the development of Jazeera Airways with our expansion into India," Jazeera Airways Chairman and CEO Marawan Boodai said.

With flights to the Indian subcontinent, the airline will grow from anĀ  airline of five destinations to 10 destinations, he added.
