Two more Air-India flights cancelled

April 28, 2003 12:32 IST

Air-India's flight on Singapore-Chennai-Mumbai sector (AI-473) was suddenly cancelled on Monday morning, airport sources said in Chennai.

The flight was to arrive here at 8.45 a.m., but A-I officials announced the cancellation of the flight at 7.00 am.

A-I also announced the cancellation of their Chennai-Singapore bound flight, scheduled to leave at 9.45 p.m.

Due to the sudden announcement, people who had come to receive their relatives and friends by AI-473, were put to some inconvenience.

Sources said the flights were cancelled due to pilots adhering to the directives of the Indian Pilots Guild, which had not withdrawn its directives on flights operations to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-affected countries.
