In a bid to tap the growing information technology market in Germany, Aftek Infosys Ltd, will participate in Systems 2003, a major international fair for IT and telecommunications, to be held in Munich from October 20 to 24.

The fair offers a platform for the exhibitors for topic-focused and target-group presentation of products and services, according to a press release issued by the company on Monday.

Ajay Singha, deputy director general, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, said, "With an expected boom in IT outsourcing, this is perhaps a good time for the Indian IT companies to actively explore business opportunities in Germany. Over the past few years the IT services market in Germany has been the main locomotive of growth," he said.

The German IT market is estimated at 67 billion euro. The IT services sector in Germany is expected to touch $33.5 billion in 2005 from a level of $25.9 billion in 2000, the release said.

The Mumbai-based Aftek Infosys will show its skills in the area of wireless and mobile communication, real time operating systems, network and systems management and solution development, it said.

Two of the company's flagship products -- Powersafe (enterprise wide brand neutral UPS management system) and Jadoogar (real word device management system) -- would be featured during the exhibition.

One of the products, 'Personal Wireless Gateway', developed using the Jadoogar framework for a leading manufacturing company in Malaysia, will also be exhibited during the fair, the release added.

Ranjit Dhuru, chairman, Aftek Infosys, said, "With the acquisition of Arexera, a German company, earlier this year, we believe participation in such B2B exhibitions will help in reaching out to a large number of IT companies and develop good commercial leads."
