ADP to set up global tech centre in Hyderabad

Automatic Data Processing Inc, a Fortune 200 company and one of the largest providers of computerised transaction processing, data communications and information services in the world, on Wednesday announced setting up of its Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad.

"This will be a significant move to consolidate and expand the company's operations in India as the Hyderabad facility will offer mission critical services and support to more than 500 clients globally," Ayush Maheshwari, director, technical services & operations, ADP, told a media conference in Hyderabad.

The Global Technology Centre, which would become operational from July 15, is coming up on a 40,000 square feet facility in Banjara Hills with an investment of $2 million.

Malcolm Thorne, vice president and general manager CRM, ADP, said: "India has all the advantages -- location, quality manpower, time zone differential, higher productivity, IT infrastructure and supportive regulatory environment. All these factors compelled ADP to expand our India high-technology backbone operations."

Equipped with a 2 Mbps International Private Leased Line Circuit link direct to the US and a 2 Mbps Internet bandwidth, the new facility will provide world class working environment and facilitate direct client interaction through excellent voice infrastructure.

"We have a 400-strong associate base supporting growth of operations in India and propose to increase employee base to 1,000 in the next fiscal year," said Ayush Maheshwari.

"Our primary focus will be to expand utilisation across several areas of our business to improve time-to-market, services levels quality and quality of life of our associates. This expansion is keeping in line with ADP's firm footed approach towards establishing and growing its businesses worldwide, the Indian operations will see a steady growth over the next few years," he pointed out.

ADP Inc is $7 billion conglomeration providing transaction processing, data communication and information services to more than 500,000 clients.

It develops innovative products and services to help clients save valuable time, make the most of their employees and resources and boost their bottom line.

ADP's four largest strategic businesses -- employer services, brokerage services, dealer services and claims services -- represent more than 95 per cent of ADP's total revenues.

Founded in 1949, ADP employs more than 40,000 associates across the globe and generates revenues of $7 billion annually.
