Students of Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad in collaboration with the Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad will be imparting training to youth of 50 degree colleges in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar on dealing with terror strikes.

"We have collaborated with the students of IIM-A for creating awareness on how to tackle terror strikes. The students will be imparting training to youths of degree colleges, through whom we intend to reach out to masses for spreading awareness," Gujarat ATS chief Ajay Tomar said.

"A curriculum shall also be developed that details the do's and don'ts during an event of terror strike," he said.

Inspired by the course Globalising Resurgent India Through Innovative Transformation started by former president A P J Abdul Kalam, the students of B-school will be going full swing in creating awakening about terror.

"We have studied about terror closely in GRIT" and shall now get a chance to translate it into action, General Secretary Students Council IIM-A Srijan Pal Singh told PTI.

"IIM-A students will be imparting training to 150 students of 50 degree colleges in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar on how to manage terror strikes, under the project Operation Savdhan," Singh said.

"The battery of volunteers trained by us will in turn be educating people of various age groups right from school going children to senior citizens about managing terror strikes," Singh said.

"For this purpose we shall also be developing a curriculum in coordination with elite personnels of armed forces pursuing courses at IIM-A which also include some, who have fought insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir," Singh said.

The youths will be trained on how to pick up early warning signs of terror strikes, and handle terror stricken situations like 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack, he added.

"During the awareness campaign we shall educate people on all three aspects of terror, firstly how to pick up early warning signs, secondly what to do when stuck up during a terror strike, and lastly how to act during golden hours post such strikes even when you are away from it," Singh said.

"We also intend to develop a portal, design some pamphlets, and prepare a small pocket diary to educate the people on handling such adverse situations," he added.

IIM-A students have roped in Lowe Lintus, a firm that will be designing the logos and layout for its curriculum.
