Reliance [Get Quote] ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani on Friday expressed hope that the Indian industry and the government will work as partners to seize the opportunity to create largescale infrastructure across all sectors in the country.

Noting that a big opportunity lies in infrastructure, Ambani said it is going to be the "the real GDP multiplier going forward."

"I am very sure that we in India and the Indian industry and the government as a partnership will work to seize the opportunity of creating large scale infrastructure across all sectors," Ambani said at an IBA Business Law Conference in Mumbai.

"The big Indian opportunity is around infrastructure and that infrastructure opportunity is driven by Indian demand, by the needs of the people of India. . ." he added.

He pointed out that infrastructure is going to be the real GDP multiplier going forward. Noting that India welcomes foreign direct investment, Ambani said that it, however, would not have a "dominant role" in the future of the country.

"We have nothing against foreigners for that matter we embrace foreign investments and it is going to play a meaningful role in the future of India but not the dominant role," he said.
