Within weeks of being sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama hopes to sign a bill that would create three million jobs in the US.
"You know, I expect to sign a bill to create 3 million jobs for the American people shortly after I get inaugurated," Obama told reporters after having a meeting with his top economic advisors.
The current recession and his proposed $750 billion economic stimulus package dominated the proceedings of his series of meetings with Congressional leaders including House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid.
On Monday, was the first business day for Obama after he arrived in the Capital from Chicago.
When asked by reporters, Obama said he expects the Congress to pass the bill related to creation of three million jobs very soon. "We anticipate that by the end of January or the first week in February we have gotten the bulk of this done," Obama said.
