Reliance Industries [Get Quote] on Thursday said its second quarter net profit grew by 7.4 per cent to Rs 4,122 crore (Rs 41.22 billion), while revenue soared by about 40 per cent from the previous year.The total income rose to Rs 44,938 crore (Rs 449.38 billion) in the three- month period ended September 30, against Rs 32,211 crore (Rs 322.11 billion) in the year-ago period.
The net profit after tax rose from Rs 3,837 crore (Rs 38.37 billion) in the July-September quarter of last fiscal, RIL said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shares of Mukesh Ambani-led RIL, which announced the results after trading hours, today dropped 7.62 per cent to close at Rs 1,215.25 at the BSE in a weak market.
