Google, the world's largest player in the Internet 'search' space, on Tuesday said its advertisement revenues from India have not been impacted even by the current slowdown. "It (India) has been a growth market for us. We are very excited to see growth consistently and we have expectations for the future as well," Google India managing director Shailesh Rao said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
Asked if the company was looking at laying off people, Rao said, "We are focused on hiring. We have experienced tremendous growth in India."
As per the Comscore May 2008 traffic figures for India, in terms of total unique visitors, Google ranks first with 19,746 unique users followed by Yahoo and Microsoft.
