Karnataka MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar was sworn in on Saturday as the president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry at its 80th annual general meeting in New Delhi.
Rajeev was the vice president of the industry body before being elevated as the president of the organisation.
A successful entrepreneur from Karnataka, Rajeev founded Jupiter Capital, a venture development managment and investment company, in 2005 and launched the Kannada channel Suvarna in 2007.
Rajeev has occupied several positions, which include member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry (1999-2003), member of the advisory committee in the IT ministry (1999-2002), chairperson of the government of Karnataka, infrastructure task force (1999-2002) and director Karnataka Power Corporation.
