Tata Indicom announced on Friday auctioning of VIP and premium mobile numbers to cater to the growing customers' craze for possessing unique numbers.

The auctioning will take place online, it said in a press release. It did not reveal the minimum base price for such numbers. The chosen number will go to the highest bidder.  

Only the VIP/Premium number under 92 number series will be available in this auction. The featured premium numbers include the Super Premium Series Numbers 92120 12345, Diamond Series Numbers 92120  55555, Golden Series Numbers 92120 - 22555, Fun Series Numbers 92120 - 30007 and the Auspicious number like 9211 786 786.

These VIP/Premium numbers have been categorised as Super Premium Numbers, Diamond Numbers, Golden Numbers, Silver Numbers, Auspicious Numbers and Fun Numbers, and bear different price tag.

Commenting on the auction of premium numbers, Tata Teleservices [Get Quote] Ltd VP  Retail K Sukumar said, "Considering the growth in current trend of acquiring special/premium numbers, we thought of providing our customers an option to choose a number of their preference".
