Delhi-based Vishal Retail is planning to launch nearly 10,000 quick service restaurants, which will sell Indian snacks, all over the world.  The restaurants will be modelled on the lines of McDonalds.

The retailer is also planning to set up destination areas on major highways of India, which will be a combination of retail and entertainment. The company is planning 25 such projects, spread over 10-20 acres, complete with retail stores, spas and waterparks.

"We want to become the world's largest retailer and have formats all over the world," said company chairman and managing director Ram Chandra Agarwal on the sidelines of the Retail Leadership Summit organized by the Retailer Association of India in Mumbai.

However, Agarwal refused to comment on his plans saying that they were in very initial stages. The company is also planning to introduce home delivery model at its outlets to garner higher sales.

"We are planning to set up merchandising hubs in different cities from where our customers can call and order the goods. We will fix a minimum purchase price for the same," Agarwal said.

The company also plans to open 100 stores in a couple of months at an investment of Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion). The new stores will be set up both in the big format of 25,000 to 30,000 sq feet and small format of 5,000 sq feet.

Currently, the company has 54 stores in 42 cities and has a total store area of 14 lakh sq feet area.
