ITC plans to teach farmers in four states the best agricultural practices.

For this, the company has roped in senior scientists from the National Research Centre for Soyabean in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and University of Pant Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, as well as post-graduates from other agriculture universities.

The programme, titled "choupal pradarshan khet", will target 1 million farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It will cover all stages of farming - from pre-sowing till harvesting.

The company also plans to procure 100,000 plots of an acre each under the scheme. The move is expected to provide a huge boost to the agriculture sector in the country.
