Temporary visas to work in the U.S., known as H-1Bs, have become highly controversial. Two U.S. senators are investigating how foreign companies are using the visas to bring workers into the country.
They suspect that Indian outsourcing firms are using H-1Bs to facilitate the outsourcing of American jobs. India's Infosys and Wipro received more of the visas in fiscal 2006 than any U.S. company.
