The survey, the fifth in the series, was carried out by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and World Public Opinion in cooperation with polling organisations around the world which constituted 56 per cent of the world's population.

More than eight in 10 believe that protecting domestic jobs should be an important foreign policy goal. Contrary to perception that people in developing countries oppose labour standards, the survey found that a majority of 56 per cent Indian say that the trade agreements should require to maintain minimum standards of working conditions and 60 per cent are for environment protection.
