Kamal Nath to lead India to Davos

Union Minister of Commerce and Industries Kamal Nath, would lead a high powered team to Davos in Switzerland sources in the government of India said in an informal chat with rediff.com.

Over 2000 delegates are expected to take part in the annual World Economic Forum meeting where issues relating to economics, geopolitics, technology and society would be discussed over a period of five days.

Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the planning commission, Ashwani Kumar, minister of state for industries and Dr Ajay Dua, secretary in the department of Industrial policy and promotion would also go as part of the delegation. The theme of this year's conference is 'The shifting power equations'.

Two hundred public figures and representatives from academia, media and industry will be part of the team to Davos.

R Seshasayee, president, Confederation of Indian Industries will head the business delegation comprising eminent business tycoons like Rahul Bajaj, N R Narayana Murthy, Anil Ambani, Jamshyd and Adi Godrej, Vijay Mallya, K V Kamath, Anand Mahindra, Baba Kalyani, Azim Premji, S Ramadorai, B Ramalinga Raju, and  Dhruv Sawhney
