Ankur Bhatia, executive director, Bird Group, can man the complex global positioning software on his mobile but has a hard time figuring out his son's spy gadgets. A self-confessed iPod freak, Bhatia also enjoys wireless streaming of live video content to his Sony Playstation.

What is your favourite gadget?

An obvious answer, it would be my mobile phone. It's important to me because it packs in a camera, MP3 player and EDGE. It also has a global positioning receiver to help me find my way around.

What is the next gadget on your must-buy list?

It would be the Nokia Communicator E90. I have been using the Communicator device ever since it was commercially launched. It comes in handy when one is on the move.

What gadget would you like to build?

Maybe a time machine.

What was your most embarrassing moment while exhibiting your technical skills?

When my son had to explain his new spy gadget to me, something I couldn't figure out by myself.

Which one of your gadgets was a complete waste of money?

My entire collection of mobile phones, as I just end up using a single device.

Which wacky gadget have you had the most fun with?

Sony's location-free device that connects wirelessly and can stream live television and other video content through a home network or across the Internet to remote devices is a lot of fun. I can connect the reception to my Sony PSP and that's pretty cool.

If you could, whose computer would you hack?

Bill Gates's computers. Or even Richard Branson's.

Do your gadgets help you to unwind?

If I am at home, then my home theatre system is what I turn to, or if I am travelling then my choice is the iPod. Gadgets are great for unwinding.
