Confident that Maharashtra will get some respite from the present power crisis, the state government on Friday said the Dabhol power plant was generating 300 MW of power and that production would touch 630 MW by May 15.

"The power is transferred to the power grid and it will reduce the shortage," State Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said here during his visit to the project site.

Patil, accompanied by Maharashtra Power Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Friday reviewed the power production at the Dabhol plant also known as Ratnagiri Gas Power Pvt Ltd (RGPPL).
