Air Deccan said on Monday it recorded a 90 to 100 per cent load factor in May as the holiday season increased the passenger traffic in most of the sectors.
"The airline carried 5,33,376 passengers in May. Most of the North and North Eastern cities saw 100 per cent load factors and more than 90 per cent in all other sectors," Air Deccan said in a release in Mumbai on Monday.
The new destinations launched in 2006 -- Port Blair, Nagpur, Rajkot, Trichy, Tuticorin, Rajamundry and Thiruvananthapuram -- have recorded over 90 per cent load factors in the past seven days, it said.
This record growth comes in the month of May when most of the travellers within the country are summer vacationers, it said.
Air Deccan has flown over four million passengers since its inception in 2003.
This year, the airline has increased its number of flights with a network connecting 55 destination across the country.
