IIM-A partners with Oman centre

A leading Indian business school has entered into a partnership with a recuitment and training firm in Oman for management development programmes.

Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad has announced a partnership with Competence HR, one of the leading recruitment, training, consultants in Oman, for management development programmes.

The tie-up was announced by Bakul Dholakia, director, IIM-A and Ali Abduladheem, director, Akansha Chowdhury, principal consultant, Competence HR in Muscat yesterday. As part of its tie-up, four programmes on Finance -- Strategic Asset-Liability Management in Banks, Human Resource Management, Customer Value Based Marketing Management and Strategic Management -- are scheduled for the next few months.

Dholakia said the partnership with Competence HR is part of the broader plan to expand to larger markets which includes the US and Europe.

"Our true satisfaction will come when we make a difference in the economy of Oman. We want to contribute to the development of Oman through our courses and short duration programmes," he added.

Outlining the strategic alliances forged by IIM-A all over the globe, Dholakia said his institute has taken its highly popular executive development programmes to many countries which include Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tanzania, Singapore Thailand.

In West Asia, the tie-up with Competence HR will mark the presence of IIM-A in Oman, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. In Egypt, IIM-A has a tie up with Future Generation for executive education.
