The directors of the six Indian Institutes of Management are holding a meeting on Monday at IIM, Ahmedabad.

"The directors of all IIMs and admission chairmen of these institutes will take part in the meeting. One of the issues on the agenda is the review of the CAT examination, " IIM-A director Bakul Dholakia told Business Standard.

He added that the meeting is a routine directors' meet following a directors' meeting which had been cancelled. The meet was scheduled for January 31.

The meeting bears significance as it comes a few days after the Arjun Singh's proposal for 27 per cent reservation of OBCs not just in premier institutes such as IIMs, IITs and Central Universities but also in other academic institutes across various fields.

There has been a growing discontent among the students and academics about the proposed reservation of OBCs. The new proposal would increase total number of reserved seats among academic institutions as high as 49.5 per cent.

IIMA had recently voiced its concern about the government's intervention in the affairs of the institute and stated that it is tired of "managing governments."

However, Dholakia refused to make any direct comment on the issue of reservation. "I will comment only when we receive a written communication from the ministry," he said earlier.
