Air India cuts fares for US, UK

Air India, India's flagship carrier, has introduced special promotional fares with immediate effect for its flights from India to the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

These special fares -- the lowest in the recent past, claims AI -- are valid for travel between October 1 and December 31, 2005, and from February 1 to March 31, 2006. The deadline for ticketing is by October 31, 2005.

While the fare to London / Paris / Frankfurt  is Rs 18,990, the tickets to New York / Newark / Chicago / Los Angeles have been priced at Rs 37,990.

Air India, now, has twenty one weekly services to London. While ten flights continue to be operated to the USA (seven to New York and three to Chicago), there are 11 terminator flights (five on the Mumbai-London sector, two on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad-London sector, one on the Mumbai-Delhi-London route and three on the Delhi-Dhaka-Kolkata-London sector).

Besides, Air India also has daily flights to all its four destinations in the US and Paris, and 11 weekly services to Frankfurt. These flights are being operated with wide-bodied Boeing 747-400s and Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
