First Look: Dr Singh with top US CEOs

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday briefed American CEOs about initiatives taken by his government to attract Foreign Direct Investment into India including in areas like real estate and steps like the removal of Press Note 18.

The patent laws had been made competitive aligning them with the WTO framework, he said.

The open sky policy in civil aviation sector was comparable with the one in the US and changes were being brought about in telecom and financial sector like banking, Dr Singh said.

Steven S Reinemund, Chairman and CEO, Pepsi, said though there were bottlenecks, India had the best managerial talent and was comparable with any other developed country.
