Cambridge Integrated Services, a global outsourcing providerĀ is looking at increasing its headcount in Bangalore to 3,500 by 2006 with the launching of its new development centre.

The 200,000 sq ft facility with an investment of Rs 20 crore (Rs 200 million) will augment Cambridge's existing capacity in the city and complement the work being done for the company's development centres in the US, UK and Australia, Nimish Soni, managing director, Cambridge India, said.

The facility will focus on process consulting and transaction processing for insurance companies, healthcare organisations and financial institutions, Chris Sinclair, executive chairman, Cambridge said, announcing the launch of its new facility in Bangalore.

"The centre will be a 3,000 seat facility to start with and will be fully operational by May 2006," Satyen Patel, executive vice-chairman Cambridge said.

"With development centres in four continents, Cambridge's current employee strength of 2,300 is expected to nearly double by the year end and the revenue is targeted to grow to $300 million in the next 12 months," Sinclair said.

The single largest focus of the company is going to be insurance, Patel said.
