Maruti's volumes in the B segment, which includes models such as Zen, WagonR, Alto and Swift grew by 22 per cent during the month compared with sales in November 2004.

A release from the company said the production of Swift was scaled up during the month. "This has improved the availability of the Swift and enabled the company to meet demand promptly," the release said. The company sold 6278 units of Swift in November 2005.

Sales of the once top selling model, M800, continued to drop in November, with total volumes at 7397 units or 17 per cent lower than the volumes achieved in November 2004.

Exports, though on a small base, registered a growth of little over 100 per cent. From 1894 units exported in November 2004, shipments in the previous months improved to 3823 units.

Overall sales during the first eight months of this fiscal continued to stay in single digit. Total sales between April and November this year was 361,000 units or 5 per cent more than the 346,000 units sold during the same period last year.

With total exports slipping by 24 per cent (23,831 units) during the first eight months, domestic sales has improved to 338,000 units against 314,000 units sold during the same period last year.
