The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad has decided not to hike the fees for its post-graduate programmes for the academic year 2005-06 being conducted at the institute, IIM (A) director Bakul Dholakia said in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The decision of not raising the fees has been taken as part of the rationalisation of fee-structure being undertaken by all the six IIMs in the country, Dholakia said.

The decision of not raising the fees was taken at the board meeting headed by IIM-A Chairman and Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy close on the heels of several smaller IIMs deciding to raise their fees.

"This is for the second successive year that fees has not been raised and it lays to rest all speculations about a fee-hike," Dholakia said adding the current fees for the post graduate program is over 1.85 lakh.

"During the meeting we have also decided to introduce a one-year residential programme on Public Management from the coming academic year," he said.

"Today we also discussed the design of the programme and a 15-member committee is working on the details of the programme," Dholakia added.
