IIM-Indore supports fee cut

March 22, 2004 18:14 IST

A decision to this effect was taken considering the government's assurance that no institution would be allowed to suffer because of paucity of funds, sources said.

A resolution passed at a board meeting of the IIM-Indore also recognised that the government has the authority and prerogative to take a decision regarding fees to be charged from students in centrally-funded institutions, the sources said.

The meeting, however, said that this was, however, subject to the public interest litigation pending before the Supreme Court, the sources added.

Last week, IIM-Lucknow extended its support to the controversial move.
