June 04, 2004 21:06 IST

Aiming at nurturing management leaders in the energy sector, Indian Oil Corporation on Friday signed a MoU with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, to develop and conduct a one-year post graduate programme in management with specialisation in energy.

The Memorandum of Understanding for the executive management programme or EMP was signed between P K Agarwal, (director, HR) Indian Oil HR director, and Bakul Dholakia, IIM-A director, an IOC statement said.

The programme is expected to commence from September this year with more than 50 executives drawn from Indian Oil and the gas sector.

"Indian Oil has taken several initiatives like competency mapping, skill development and knowledge building to face the challenges of the new business environment and the task was to integrate the new management programme jointly developed with IIM-A," IOC chairman M S Ramachandran said.
