Esteem not to be replaced: MUL

Maruti Udyog Ltd on Monday denied reports that it was planning to replace its mid-size car 'Esteem' with a new model next year.

"While Maruti will continue to work on new models, there is no plan to replace the 'Esteem' with any new model next year," the company said in a statement.

Maruti to replace Esteem with new model

The reports had originated from Japan and quoted a senior official of Suzuki Motor Corp, Maruti's parent company.

Suzuki has also clarified that they have not made any statement to indicate that the 'Esteem' would be replaced next year.
