ACC Q1 net zooms 122%

Associated Cement Companies has reported a 122% increase in net profit at Rs 44.14 crore (Rs 441.4 million) for the quarter ended June 30, 2003 as against Rs 19.84 crore (Rs 198.4 million) of the last fiscal.

Total income increased to Rs 824.03 crore (Rs 8.24 billion) from Rs 761.64 crore (Rs 7.62 billion) in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, according to a release issued to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.

Sales volume, including traded cement, at 3.852 million tonne this was higher by 6 per cent when compared with the corresponding previous period, the release added.
