Sinha to lead trade team to Bangladesh

External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha will lead the Indian delegation at the sixth meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Economic Commission to be held in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Sinha said the Indian government attaches the greatest importance to the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

"Our relationship draws sustenance from the common ties of our shared history and heritage, the joint commitment to the ideals of democracy and freedom and the mutual feelings of respect and affection between our people," the minister said in an arrival statement.

The Indian delegation includes representatives from the ministries and departments of external affairs, economic affairs, commerce, revenue, shipping, road transport, highways and railways.
