Dhirendra Singh assumes charge as divestment secretary

Dhirendra Singh on Tuesday assumed charge as the new divestment secretary, following Monday's high level bureaucratic reshuffle.

Singh, a 1968 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, takes over from S S Meenakshi Sundaram, who has been appointed as financial advisor and ex-officio secretary to the government and concurrently member, Atomic Energy Commission and Space Commission, an official release said in New Delhi.

Singh was special secretary, defence procurement prior to his new assignment.
