Steve Forte resigns as CEO of Jet Airways

Private carrier Jet Airways on Tuesday announced the setting up of a new management structure, under Chairman Naresh Goyal's direct guidance, following the resignation of the airline's Chief Executive Officer Steve Forte.

Forte, who was with the carrier for three years, has resigned from his current position with effect from December 1 citing personal reasons. ''He has decided to return to the United States where he intends to pursue consulting work,'' a Jet Airways release said.

The chairman and board of directors of the airline have now set up an executive committee to be responsible for day-to-day management under the supervision of Goyal.

The committee will be presided over and led by Saroj Datta, executive director, who has been with the airline since its inception. The other members of the committee comprise of senior executive heads of the operational departments.
