CCD to finalise ITDC hotels sale on July 2

The Cabinet Committee on Divestment is likely to meet on July 2 and take a final decision on the price bids for the sale of hotels, including the Kanishka Hotel in the capital, owned by the India Tourism Development Corporation.

''The CCD will take up ITDC hotels and two-three other items,'' Divestment Minister Arun Shourie told reporters on the sidelines of a press conference on the north-east, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Shourie said the CCD date might vary if some contingent situation arises.

The committee of secretaries had already finalised the price bids for the five star Kanishka Hotel in Delhi, which would get final approval by the CCD.

Shourie said the divestment plan of the Shipping Corporation of India was on schedule. "I keep reading about the delays in the newspapers. But there is no delay,'' he said.
