Sebi to launch web-based information filing system

Capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India will launch on July 5 a web-based system to enable companies to file periodic disclosure reports electronically.

Sebi said the centralised system would enhance transparency and assist in speedier dissemination of information.

The web-site will be hosted and managed by the National Informatics Centre.

Sebi sources further said they are in talks with credit rating agency CRISIL to collaborate on the venture.

Disclosure filings by companies are currently made in physical form in the exchanges where they are listed.
