ITDC hotel employees on strike to protest divestment

ITDC hotel employees on Tuesday went on a day's strike in protest against the ongoing divestment process for the hotels.

"Employees of Janpath Hotel, Lodhi, Qutab, Ranjit, and Ashok Hotel are on mass casual leave for a day in protest against the ongoing divestment process for the properties," ITDC vice president (human resource) M L Jain said in New Delhi.

Upto 1000 employees were on strike, he said, adding that there were certain issues like the future of the employees following divestment, which were of concern to the union.

"However, the hotels' essential services are not affected by this strike," he said.

The strike was mainly observed in ITDC hotels in Delhi, he said.
