The government on Wednesday cleared the draft transaction document for sale of 26 per cent stake in Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

Cabinet committee on divestment at its meeting in New Delhi finalised the transaction document for the zinc PSU, sources said.

As many as six bidders are in the fray for stake in HZL including domestic majors Birla Copper and Sterlite.

International mining companies Phelps Dodge has joined hands with Metdist while Zurich based Glencore has gone alone.

India's sole zinc producer Binani Zinc has tied up with Korea Zinc.
