'Govt not studying NLC divestment proposal'

Union Minister for Divestment Arun Shourie has said the Centre was not examining any proposal for divestment in Neyveli Lignite Corporation.

In a letter to Dravida Munnetra Kazagham MP C Kuppusamy, who had raised the issue in the Lok Sabha on March 20 last, Shourie said the divestment commission in its 13th report in January, had submitted its recommendations on the divestment in NLC.

But the government was not examining any divestments proposal in NLC at present, he said.
