Enron tried to buy me: Indian journalist

The business editor of Zee TV network, Raghu Dhar, has said that Enron Corporation offered him $1 million per year in a bid to silence his criticism of the company's plans to build a plant in India.

The claim was made in an interview to CBS, which will be aired on Sunday.

Enron wanted him to be its spokesman, Dhar said.

Enron spokesman John Ambler said he was not aware of any such claim.

"We find it extraordinarily difficult to believe that any thing like this occurred," he said on Thursday.
