Non-bailable warrant issued against two Rastogi brothersA Delhi court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the influential London-based businessman Virender Rastogi and his brother Narinder Rastogi in a CBI case relating to fraudulent claims of duty drawback. According to Central Bureau of Investigation sources, the Metropolitan Magistrate issued the non-bailable warrants against the two Rastogi brothers at their Uday Park residence address. The issuance of the warrant is seen as a setback to the Rastogi brothers in the duty drawback scam. The proceedings against them started after the CBI got vacated a stay order by the Allahabad high court on their personal appearance and got a direction issued to them. The brothers were directed to appear before the designated court on March 4 earlier this year, but they failed to do so. The Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court vacated the stay order on personal appearance of Narinder Rastogi, Virender Rastogi, Subash Rastogi and Ravinder Rastogi and their sister Neena Rastogi and asked them to appear before Metropolitan Magistrate at Patiala House. The warrants had been issued against the two brothers despite the fact that both of them are presently settled outside the country after allegedly committing the fraud in seeking the duty drawback in the exports.
