Sterlite sole bidder for Hind Zinc, CCD to meet on 10th

Sterlite has emerged as the sole bidder for acquiring 26 per cent stake in Hindustan Zinc, and the cabinet committee on Divestment is likely to decide on the bid at its meeting on Saturday.

International bidders -- Glencore and Metdist-Phelps Dodge -- shied away from submitting price bids which closed on Thursday evening, official sources said.

Other domestic bidders -- Binani Zinc-Korea Zinc and Birla Copper -- also did not participate in the financial bids.
