No rail passenger fare revision: NitishUnion Railway Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that there was no immediate plans to revise passenger fare and privatisation of railway health services, but maintained that steps were afoot for greater participation of private sector to improve rail services. "There is no plan at present for revision of passenger fare. We will let you know in due course," Kumar told reporters after flagging off a new Patna-Jhajha train in Patna. On possibility of privatisation of railway health services, Kumar said: "There is no such proposal. More so, railways already take help from private parties for providing better health care." He said: "We have always welcomed greater participation of private parties to help mop up additional resources for improving services." Kumar said his ministry had formulated a lucrative package to attract private investment for additional revenue generation to improve infrastructure. He said railway ministry had also decided to set up a public sector unit -- catering and tourism corporation, which would mobilise private sectors participation to improve catering. Minister of State for Railways Digvijay Singh was also present.
