 Asian Hotels FY-01 net down by 33.99%
 Asian Hotels Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 238.60 million for the year ended March 31, 2001 as compared to Rs 361.50 million for the previous year ended March 31, 2000. Total Income for the year ended March 31, 2001 is at Rs 1181.80 million as compared to Rs 1213.50 million for the previous year ended March 31, 2000.
Dividend declared @ 70% (including interim dividend of 55% already paid during the year 2000-2001).

 Nava Bharat Ferro Alloys FY-01 net up by 12.16%
 Nava Bharat Ferro Alloys Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 59.39 million for the year ended March 31, 2001 as compared to Rs 52.96 million for the previous year ended March 31, 2000. Net Sales for the year ended March 31, 2001 is at Rs 3068.91 million as against Rs 2632.45 million in the year ended March 31, 2000.
Other Income is at Rs 31.85 million in FY-01 as compared to Rs 147.53 million in FY-00.
Other Income in the previous year includes profit on sale of investments.
During the current year, the Company has redeemed preference share capital of Rs 30 million as per the terms of issue.
The Board of Directors of the Company has recommended a Dividend of 12% on paid up equity share capital.

 Satyam Computers Q1 results on July 11, 2001
 A meeting of the Board of Directors of Satyam Computer Services Ltd is scheduled to be held on July 11, 2001 to consider and take on record the Audited Financial Results of the Company for the first quarter ended June 30, 2001.

 M & M Q1 results on July 31, 2001
 A meeting of the Board of Directors of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd is scheduled to be held on July 31, 2001 to consider and take on record the Company's Unaudited Financial Results (Provisional) for the first quarter ending June 30, 2001.

 Digital India signs MOU with Toshiba Machine Co
 Digital India today ( July 2, 2001) announced that it has been selected by Toshiba Machine Co, an integrated machine and equipment manufacturing company, as their software development partner for the company's semiconductor equipment division.
The initiatives of this relationship with Toshiba Machine further endorses DIGITAL INDIA's commitment to expand its independent customer base and build relationships that have high growth and scalability potential in the future.
Commenting on the MOU signing Dr T.Takigawa, General Manager of Toshiba Machine said, "Software content in sophisticated semiconductor equipment is increasing day by day. Digital India will help us enhance the software architecture of our equipment. This MOU is the first step toward that direction."

 Bajaj Auto Q1 results on July 28, 2001
 A meeting of the Board of Directors of Bajaj Auto Ltd is scheduled to be held on July 28, 2001 to consider the Unaudited Quarterly Financial Results of the Company for the first quarter ended June 30, 2001.

 Sterlite Optical denies news article
 With reference to a news article appearing in a leading financial daily titled "Optical fibre shines" Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd, in a communication to the BSE, has informed that the Company has tendered for the Optical Fibre order of BSNL. The Company has further stated that while the techno-quantitative bids have been opened, the Company has not received any orders as yet and hence the news article is factually incorrect.

 G E Shipping clarifies on news item
 With reference to the news item appearing in a leading financial daily titled " GE Shipping in race for Essar drilling business" Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd has informed BSE that the Company is exploring the possibilities of expanding its Offshore Divisions business by acquiring more assets. In that process the Company is looking at the possibility of acquiring certain assets from Essar Oil Ltd but it has not reached any conclusion in this matter.
The Company has further informed that one of their support vessel has been given on Time Charter to Saudi Aramco. As part of on going efforts to internationalise business of its offshore division, the Company is offering their vessels/assets outside India including Gulf region, for employment.

 SSI clarifies on news item
 With reference to the news article appearing in a leading financial daily titled " SSI shines bright too" SSI Ltd has informed BSE that as of March 31, 2001, 42 out of 601 training centres were owned by SSI. The Company intends to move to a largely franchise owned training network. The Company has further informed that the SSI owned training centres were important during the formative years of business to establish the brand and to help them learning the business. Going forward, the Company sees franchise model as the preferred way to grow the network rapidly at little incremental capital cost.
The Company has further informed that following this strategy, the company is working in converting Company owned centres to a franchise owned training centres.

 BSE revises Special Margins on 44 scrips
 BSE has informed the Members of the Exchange that Special Margin has been revised from today (July 2 2001). The rates of Special Margins have been revised keeping in view the closing price of the scrip on the last day of the settlement.
