Nasscom collects Rs 100 mn for quake reliefKanchana Suggu in Bombay Nasscom 2001 may have incited many a business deals, created several relationships and generated millions of rupees. But if there's anything Nasscom president Dewang Mehta takes pride in, it is the fact that an amount of Rs 100 million has already been contributed by the software industry towards Gujarat earthquake relief. "Seventy-eight companies have already contributed," Mehta said. Earlier, Mehta said that he expected the amount to cross Rs 250 million. "That can still happen. The figures are as Friday. I'm sure money will still be coming in," Mehta told rediff.com. At the Nasscom exhibition grounds in Bombay, where the 'e-summit' was being held, Nasscom had put a 'Wall of Hope', where visitors could pledge a sum of money. Visitors alone contributed Rs 410,000.
