AI unions threaten cessation of work on Oct 1 New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) Seven unions of different sections of Air India employees, including pilots and crew members, today threatened to cease work on October one to demand disclosure of the company's business plans, protection of existing service conditions and settlement of a demand charter. In a joint statement here, leaders of the oint Action Committee, comprising these unions and associations, said it had decided "to embark upon a series of protest measures culminating in the cessation of work on Monday, October one." Stating that they had got no assurance on their demands from the Civil Aviation Ministry, the statement said they would not remain "a silent spectator in the absence of categorical commitments on the part of the Government on transparency and protection sought by us." The Joint Action Committee comprises Indian Pilots Guild, Indian Flight Engineers Association, Air India Aircraft Engineers Association, Air India Officers Association, Air India Engineers Association, Air India Cabin Crew Association and Air India Employees Guild.
