Ketan Parekh's custody extended

The special Central Bureau of Investigation court Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Ketan Parekh and two others for a day in the 137-crore pay order scam.

Additional session judge A R Joshi, while extending the judicial custody for Ketan Parekh, his cousin Karthik and manager of Madhavpura bank J V Pandya will hear the matter on Thursday.

The trio was brought from the Thane central jail under tight police security.

CBI prosecutor Bharat Raghuvanshi, while moving the remand application, urged the court to further extend the judicial custody of the accused as investigations in the case were in progress.

Ketan Parekh is in custody for 29 days and his bail was last extended on April 18 along with Karthik and Pandya. The bail plea was moved by the brothers on the basis of change in circumstances in the case.
