THE KERALA TRAIN MISHAP
43 killed as train plunges into Kerala river
Three bogies of the Mangalore-Madras Mail fell into the swollen river at Kadalundi near Calicut. A fourth was dangling from the bridge while four other bogies were derailed.

One of the passengers said there was a jerk just before the train passed over the Kadalundi bridge, followed by a big noise, after which everyone was thrown out of their seats.
