In India the more popular general sites are rediff.com: Khoj.com,Indiatimes.com and
www.123india.com.There is no official monitor of the number of hits in the country,
though. Here's a brief review of the sites hot with surfers:
Flying High
British Airways (BA), the world's largest airlines, has divided its web site
www.british-airways.com into Flights, ExecutiveClub, On holidays and Worldwide.
It provides links to online travel insurance (for British residents), worldwide
telephone numbers to contact the airlines and BA's holiday reservations. You can
also find out which movie is playing on your flight and find out more about the
airline's services with links to First,Club World, Club Europe, WorldTraveller and
Shuttle, Travel Q&A is a service where you can get answer to queries like where to get vaccinations and how much
luggage can you carry.
Investment forum
www.schwab.com can be the answer to all your investment worries - be it mutual
funds, quotes and research or long-term saving. The site gets investment
professionals at the Schwab Investment Forums to answer visitor's queries. There is
an equity research service which is available free for the first week. It has indices on
Dow Jones, NASDAQ and Standard & Poor.
Window to the world
www.my.yahoo.com is your window to world news from Reuters and Associated
Press. It covers sports, television listings, yellow pages, finance portfolios,
architecture, baseball, chatting, fashion, jazz, movies, photography, religion, museums
and galleries.
India's most wanted
www.rediff.com is one of the most popular web destinations in India. A mixture of
private e-mail services, financial news, showbiz, current affairs, shopping, gifts
celebrity chat slots, jobs and astrology. It was one of the pioneers in e-commerce in
India and provides good buys in books, music, gifts and accessories.
