Dishnet DSL Web Awards : Rediff.com judged the best

Rediff.com walked away with top honours bagging three awards at the annual Chip Dishnet DSL, Web Awards 2000 held in Mumbai on the 19th of May.

Rediff was judged the best Net Media Site in the judges category and the best multingual site as well as the site with the best search engine in the Popular Choice Awards Category.

Some of the other awards in the judges Choice category were bagged by sites like vindia.com (entertainment), Sharekhan.com (finance),Indiainfo.com(multilingual) and automartindia(shopping).

Over 1000 dot.com companies had filed nominations according to the organisers, of which 50 were shortlisted by a panel of experts across 10 categories. These sites were further judged across various parameters to zero in on 20 winners.

Jarkko Oikarinen, the founder of the Internet Relay Chat - the technology that enables 'chating' on the Web gave away the awards.

The awards have been organised by CHIP, India's leading personal computing publication alongwith DishnetDSL, the broadband ISP.
